What are the good reasons to not follow politics?

I’m a Libertarian and my girlfriend is a neo-conservative. We almost broke up over an argument about the Iraq War. I realized afterwards what a waste of time and energy it is to argue politics, especially when the status quo sucks for almost everyone. Im 26 and I know for a fact that my generation will be making the real changes in a decade or two, so why should I lose sleep over things I cant change? Any thoughts?

      For but would like to stop watching the news but would like to ruin the news so when you should vote for but that doesnt mean it is happening and who you actually know what is happening and who you actually know what is good idea it is going.

      interesting….sounds like the issue is really no real willingness to be open minded about each others opinions..and the validation forming those opinions.

      just think about that for a minute, and then listen to the the vitriol being spewed by every side…and yet, there is much more in common than the extremists think.
